Kayak the Colorado

Kayaking the Colorado River was easily one of the best birthday experiences I could’ve asked for. 🛶🏜️

We launched from Lees Ferry and took a pontoon backhaul about 20 minutes upriver, a little past the Horseshoe Bend overlook, to an area with ancient Native American petroglyphs. From there, we paddled 10+ miles back down the river over about 4.5 hours.

The water was unbelievably clear and fresh, with rainbow trout everywhere beneath us. We stopped along the way to hike, explore, and even got to see wild horses.

Such a magical experience, and even better getting to share it with my lovely partner. ❤️

What an incredible birthday gift and a memory I’ll never forget.
